Dr Eleanor Oswald, DClin Psy, M.A. (Hons)

Dr Eleanor is a Senior Clinical Psychologist with twelve years working across clinical settings, and seven years post-qualified experience as a registered and chartered Clinical Psychologist. She demonstrates good clinical outcomes with families, couples, adults, and teenagers experiencing significant mental health difficulties. 

 

She has vast experience in working with a variety of presentations, including people with personality disorder and bipolar diagnoses, PTSD, psychosis, anxiety, depression, self-harm and OCD. Dr Eleanor has worked extensively with Adults with Complex Trauma and disrupted attachment styles, in both individual and group therapy. She has experience and interest in working with families and couples, using evidence based practice to improve wellbeing. 

 

Using a trauma-informed approach, she has provided training and consultation for carers and staff groups, and has worked with people from a wide range of backgrounds. Dr Eleanor is adept at managing risk, having been a trainer in risk assessment and self-harm. She has held the position of Lecturer in Psychology and developed and delivered training, lectures and research presentations to a range of audiences. 

  

Dr Eleanor applies a person-centred approach to her work. She is keen on promoting the delivery of evidence based psychological therapies, tailoring therapy to the needs of the individual or system. She continues to work across the lifespan from a trauma-informed perspective, and is passionate about delivering a quality service to all those who could benefit. Dr Eleanor has a special interest in trauma, attachment and anxiety disorders, and is trained to offer a range of evidence-based interventions and assessments, including:

Dr Eleanor has significant experience in supporting other mental health professionals through training and supervision, when she played a key role in managing and supporting the development of Trainee Clinical Psychologists in her native Scotland. In response to the pandemic, Dr Eleanor also played a key role in facilitating the provision of psychological therapy using telehealth. Dr Eleanor has also volunteered for several charitable organisations, for almost 18 years, in her spare time.
